PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Since April 1, 2011, BC pharmacists have been able to submit claims to PharmaCare for the provision of medication review services to eligible patients. The objectives of medication review services are to increase communication between patients and pharmacists, promote safe and effective medication use, and improve health outcomes for patients. This training program provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for BC pharmacists to deliver and claim for standardized medication review services for their patients.

1. Understand the guidelines, process requirements and expectations involved in providing medication review services
2. Implement medication review services in their pharmacy practice
3. Complete the appropriate documentation forms necessary to provide and claim remuneration for medication review services
4. Identify processes for optimizing efficiency and utilization of available resources
5. Locate links to helpful websites and online resources specific to the implementation and provision of medication review services
ACCREDITATION:
Each of the modules of this program has been accredited by UBC Continuing Pharmacy Professional Development for BC pharmacy professionals using the Canadian Council for Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) Accreditation Guidelines.
