Program Delivery Methods


1.     Independent Study Programs (ISP)  

       (Forms & Documents)

Independent Study Programs, also known as self-study or directed study, are those that the learner works on without interacting directly with a presenter or facilitator and the program is delivered using a variety of media such as:

  • print (correspondence, journal, downloaded pdf);
  • audio (tapes, CD, internet);
  • video (DVD, internet); and/or
  • interactive multimedia (CD/DVD, internet, PODcast)

2.     Live Programs   (Forms & Documents)

Live Programs are those programs where the learner and presenter interact with each other in real time (synchronous).  They  may take place with the learner and presenter in the same location (conference, lecture, seminar, workshop) or they may use distance technology to bring the learner and presenter together (audioconference, videoconference, webcast or synchronous internet conferencing). 

3.    Blended Programs (BP)   (Forms & Documents)

Blended Programs combine a mixture of learning formats including live session(s) with an instructor and some independent study activities.
