International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) who are not Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens and would like to register for the program will need both a Study Permit and a Work Permit. These permits should be applied for in the country of origin and the average waiting period of two months taken into consideration. Due to the heavy workload of the program and the fundamental principles taught in the first weeks of the program, attendance in all classes is mandatory from the first day; late arrivals to the program will not be permitted.
Those IPGs living outside of Canada who wish to attend the program in order to gain the necessary skills and competencies AND who have met the prerequisites should do the following:
An acceptance letter will not be issued to applicants living outside of Canada until full payment of the tuition fee of $10,000 has been received. No exceptions can be made. As a result, all applicants requiring confirmation of program acceptance in order to receive Study/Work permits should consider timelines for entire tuition payment. If the student is not granted the necessary Study and Work Permits, a full refund will be granted on receipt of a photocopy of the refusal notice from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. However, if the student is not able to enter Canada until after the first day of classes because insufficient time was allowed for the issuance of the necessary permits, the $2,000 program deposit will be retained by UBC.
