NEW Preceptor's Evaluation of the Student forms

Dear Preceptors, the OEE's evaluation forms have changed for the better being brought in line with the AFPC 2010 Outcomes.  These forms are a standard for pharmacy schools across the country.  The new forms can be found under the 'Clerkship Forms' tab on our Preceptor Resource Centre.  These forms allow for more detailed feedback to students and provide a clearer picture of what expectations exist of our students during their clerkships.

For information on how to complete the forms, please see the first page of the Preceptor's Evaluation of the Student form, or see the Preceptor Guidelines for Completing the Student Evaluation form under the 'Clerkship Forms' tab.

New for September 2012!  IPE activities for students

Why  IPE?  Why is Interprofessional Education Important? (http://www.chd.ubc.ca/about-us).  Interprofessional collaboration is increasingly recognized as a means of meeting the complex demands of today’s health care environment.  It involves a team of health care providers working together, each making a unique contribution to achieving a common goal.  Interprofessional education helps ensure health care professionals have the knowledge and skills to work together to improve patient outcomes.  It involves two or more professions learning “with, from and about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care” (CAIPE, 2002).

The University of British Columbia is recognized as a leader in interprofessional education as a result of twenty years of experience developing and delivering innovative programs in this area.  Advancements in interprofessional education at UBC mirror the international movement led by the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative and the World Health Organization to promote interprofessional education and collaboration for better health outcomes and sustainable health care.

To teach collaboration we must practice collaboration. To practice collaboration we must know how to collaborate.
